Notes On Baptism

Baptism is a sacrament we do in the manner Jesus Himself was baptized. It should be done in “the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” We are instructed in such a fashion as described in the Scriptures, but unlike the Old Testament we do not only do it for the clergy, because under Christ we are all in the priesthood, so all believers need to be baptized. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?" But Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed Him.

Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? I am doing a fundraiser to help finance a mission I help in Bangladesh. It is run by Pastor Billa Mangal Das. Bill travels as far as 1292 kilometers in his quest to teach over 1630 children, teens, and some young adults in Bangladesh. Some classes have as few as 11 children and some have over 300 students. He covers 5 Districts and 20 towns in his travels very week.

Bill does most of his travel on foot, or a bicycle. Sometimes, if he can afford it, he will rent a car or a motorcycle, but that is rare. During the Summer, he will often times travel at nighttime, because it is too hot to travel long distances in the day time.

Lately there have been times when I become angry at the things I see going in the world. I find myself wondering if the things I care about are worth my time. I see many people walking around in a daze, caring only for what the world has to offer them, not what the Lord does.

It seems like my friends and relatives dismiss the things I share with them as just another rant from someone who is way too wrapped up in things they could care less about. My frustration can become so overwhelming that I wonder why I should even care for what they think, or where they are headed. That’s when I realize my love for them has become contempt, and that I need to step back and search my heart.

I have used them for many years, and while most links are active, I cannot be responsible if a link is dead, or if through the years they may have changed some of their beliefs.
