Seven Pillars of Wisdom Proverb 9:1

by Chuck Ness

In Proverb 9:1 we read that;
“Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars"
This is obviously a symbolic description, since Wisdom is personified. So what is this house and what are these “Seven Pillars” that wisdom has erected?

Many explanations exist regarding the seven pillars of wisdom in this passage. One idea is that, seven expresses completeness in Scripture, thus Solomon may be communicating that the application of wisdom results in a complete, orderly, well-furnished house, one that which lacks nothing.
Then there are commentators who see the seven pillars as describing a traditional banquet. So then, Wisdom’s call in Proverbs 9:5 would be fitting in that;
“Come, eat of my bread
And drink of the wine I have mixed”
I would be remiss if I failed to point out how many ancient writers often described the world as resting on seven pillars. If this was Solomon's meaning, it is possible that “her house” in Proverbs 9:1 is parallel in some way with the world. However, I offer this belief just to allow all thought to be considered I actually doubt this is what Solomon was referring to, because when he wrote he did so under the influence of the Holy Spirit. So we must look to the Strictures themselves for the answer.

Which brings me to 2 men who wrote extensive commentary on the Scriptures, John Gill & Matthew Henry. John Gill of Proverb 9:1 that;
Wisdom has built her house”....”There are two other senses, which bid fairest one of them to be right;
(1.) Either the heavenly glory, the house not made with hands, Christ's Father's house, in which are many mansions for his people; and which is a city whose builder and maker is God, and is prepared by Christ; and stands firm upon the promises of God, the person, blood, and righteousness of Christ, and the grace of the blessed Spirit:
(2.) Or rather the church of Christ on earth, the house of the living God, the pillar and ground of truth; this is built by Christ upon himself, the rock and foundation; the materials of it are true believers, precious and lively stones; built up a spiritual house, and a fit and suitable habitation for God through the Spirit.

As for, she hath hewn out her seven pillars John Gill suggests 3 meanings;

(1.) Ministers of the Gospel, compared to pillars for strength and stability, and for their being instrumental in supporting the interest and church of Christ; in allusion to the pillars in Solomon's temple, Jachin and Boaz; see Gallatians 2:9 These are said to be "hewn", being polished, beautified, and adorned with the gifts and graces of the Spirit by Christ, and thereby fitted for their work and service; and said to be "seven", because there is a complete and sufficient number of them, which Christ has provided, and always will provide for his churches, as long as they continue in the world.
(2.) Though it may be these seven pillars may denote in general the firmness and solidity of this spiritual building, the church, and the continuance of it by the power of God;
(3.) Or they may have respect to the seven states of the church in so many periods of time, to last to the end of all things, signified by the seven churches in the book of the Revelation.”
Matthew Henry suggests that the house in Proverb 9:1 eludes to the place Jesus mentioned, In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also”. (John 14:2) While the seven pillars could be a reference to the Temple Solomon built, or the schools of the prophets;
Here is a stately palace provided, Pro_9:1. Wisdom, not finding a house capacious enough for all her guests, has built one on purpose, and, both to strengthen it and to beautify it, she has hewn out her seven pillars, which make it to be very firm, and look very great. Heaven is the house which Wisdom has built to entertain all her guests that are called to the marriage-supper of the Lamb; that is her Father's house, where there are many mansions, and whither she has gone to prepare places for us. She has hanged the earth upon nothing, there in it we have no continuing city; but heaven is a city that has foundations, has pillars. The church is Wisdom's house, to which she invites her guests, supported by the power and promise of God, as by seven pillars. Probably, Solomon refers to the temple which he himself had lately built for the service of religion, and to which he would persuade people to resort, both to worship God and to receive the instructions of Wisdom. Some reckon the schools of the prophets to be here intended
Considering these interpretive options, it is likely that “her house” and “seven pillars” both refer to a home that is in proper order, with the use of “seven” emphasizing its completeness and all-sufficiency. Overall, Proverb 9 is presented in a chiastic structure, meaning the first and last portions are parallel ideas with the main point in the center passage. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” The entire Proverb is devoted to the emphasis of seeking wisdom, avoiding folly, and finding this wisdom in the Lord.

God bless you all as you study to be approved and ready for the moment the Bride Groom comes for his bride.

I Remember Standing Alone

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD,
And He ponders all his paths. Proverbs 5:21

by Chuck Ness

Many times in my life I have been standing alone.

Like in the picture above, I remember standing alone at the edge of the Grand Canyon when I was hitchhiking through Arizona. Wondering which way I would travel.

I remember standing alone, looking down at the grave of a dear sweet girl who had my heart when I was but 16, in Duluth MN. Would she still be alive if I had not gotten off the bus a block early? I also remember wondering, if she then would be looking down at my grave.

I remember standing alone inside the tent that housed the game where I was a carnival barker for the Thomas shows, after the Carnival closed down for the night in Oklahoma City. It was my first time on acid and I was all alone, wondering why the sides of the tent were moving in on me.

Homeschool Your Children

by Chuck Ness

Train up a child in the way he should go,
 And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverb 22:6

Plain and simple. If a Christian is true to their faith, by putting their faith in God and Only God through Christ, then God will lead them to do what is right,. and the right thing to do is to Homeschool. In 99% of the World, the government's education system is anti-Christian.  So why are you sending your child to be indoctrinated against you and your GOD? I specifically blame pastors who fail to educate the flock as to the importance of homeschooling.

Yet as a response, many will say to me,

Not every person, Christian or not, has the education themselves to properly home school.

Vengeance Is Mine Says The Lord, Proverbs 6:34-35

by Chuck Ness

Mind you, Proverb 6:34-35 was written some 2900 years ago when women had no power. It was normal for men to have multiple wives and concubines. After all, Solomon himself had some 700 wives and 300 concubines. However, times have changed, and women can be as vengeful if not more so than men when they find out their husband has been sleeping around with another woman.

This Proverb can be used for both both men and women. Prison is filled with those who have gotten revenge to the ultimate degree. Thus the Lord warns us all to not even give the thought of adultery a chance of planting a seed in our hearts. Vengeance is mine says the Lord, but in the moment of anger and hurt, logic and reason are often times far from ones mind. It is a sin that can destroy many lives.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but
rather give place to wrath; for it is written,
"Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
Romans 12:19

Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
Their foot shall slip in due time;
For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.'

The Penalty For Sexual Immorality Proverbs 5:11

by Chuck Ness

Today, more than at any other time in our society, our rejection of God’s moral standards has led to an epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases and infections. This commentary will be a devastating one about our society. It will show you how we have become no better than past societies of the Romans, Greeks, Babylonians, and yes those of Sodom and Gomorrah. I suggest you have a shower ready to scrub yourself clean after learning how truly disgusting our society has become.

As you look at the graph below, you can see that by the mid 1990's STDs started to rocket up. This is directly related to the leadership of the country. In 1992, when Bill Clinton became President. Clinton was an immoral man who eventually admitted he was having sex with Mionica Lewinski. The Clinton administration's attitudes on sex effected the nations immorality.

It was Bill Clinton's surgeons general, Joycelyn Elders who, in response to a psychologist who asked her whether "a more explicit discussion and promotion of masturbation could help slow the spread of AIDS". Her response told the World which direction the sexual standards of America was headed;

Clinton was an immoral man who eventually admitted he was having sex wioth Mionica Lewinski. The Clinton administration's attitudes on sex effected the nations immorality.

It was Bill Clinton's surgeons general, Joycelyn Elders who, in response to a psychologist who asked her whether "a more explicit discussion and promotion of masturbation could help slow the spread of AIDS". Her response told the World which direction the sexual standards of America was headed;

As per your specific question in regard to masturbation, I think that is something that is a part of human sexuality and it's a part of something that perhaps should be taught. But we've not even taught our children the very basics. (Joycelyn Elders Bill Clinton's Surgeon General)

It must be understood that throughout history, societies have always reflected the morality of their leaders. Look at the way bad Kings of Scriptures lead the nation into immorality, while Godly Kings led the nation back to GOD. Leaders always set the moral tone of the society they rule. In the graph above, the reason things continually skyrocketing under George Bush's leadership, was because he left the education system pretty much in control of the same people Bill Clinton had appointed. Then things just continued under President Obama.

With the push for women to be equal with men, men to be considered women, and for children to explore their sexual desires with whomever they so desire, we have now taken all segments of our societies down the dark path of sexual immorality that thrived in Sodom and Gomorrah. Is it any wonder that diseases which were once on the decline are now at record levels, with both women and children being effected the most. In October of 2019 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported the staggering results of the leftist push for the, "Love who your with" ideology from k-College in our education system.

According to the annual Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Report, STDs increased for the fifth consecutive year – with nearly 2.5 million combined cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Cases of congenital syphilis – syphilis passed from a mother to her baby during pregnancy– increased 40 percent from 2017-2018. Congenital syphilis can result in miscarriage, stillbirth, newborn death, and severe lifelong physical and neurological problems. CDC

And you mourn at last,
When your flesh and your body are consumed, Proverbs 5:11-13

“thy flesh and thy body are consumed” And you groan at your final end,
When your flesh and your body are consumed; Proverbs 5:11

Consider the following tragic consequences of sexual immorality as reported by the American Sexual Health Association;
  • More than half of all people will have an STD/STI at some point in their lifetime.
  • Recent estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Infection show that there are 19.7 million new STIs every year in the U.S.
  • The total estimated direct cost of STIs annually in the U.S. is $15.6 billion (2010 US dollars).
  • Each year, one in four teens contracts an STD/STI.
  • One in two sexually active persons will contract an STD/STI by age 25.
Hollywood has glamorized sexual sins, but there is no hiding the reality that there is nothing glamorous about where adultery will end—cries of regret and emotional self-flagellation.

And you groan at your final end, When
your flesh and your body are consumed;
Proverbs 5:11

It's amazing that the Bible speaks of the results from permissive sexual sin in such terms. Our all knowing God warns us against a lifestyle that will utlimately consume our flesh and our body long before even modern day medical experts can detect you are infected. Also, interesting how scientists have come up with a pill for a woman to take so that if she has sex, she will not get pregnant. Yet there is no drug out there which could take before you have sex that would prevent you from getting any STDs.

It's sad that men and women have been ignoring warnings about the consequences of casual sex for generations after generations. Today, sexually transmitted diseases are as rampant in our societies as they were 2500 years ago, and the consequences are just as dangerous as they have always been for anyone who decides to the immorality revolution.

We are warned that if we engage in sexual immorality we will 'growl' at our latter end. The word used here speaks of a deep gutteral groan -a despairing sound that comes because someone has discovered too late that their sexual choices have come to destroy them. This groaning happens also because their glesh and body are consumed. The world mocks the church and the Word of God when we walk about such things.

In todays woke climate, if a Christian teacher dares to claim that AIDS, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and some 30+ other sexually transmitted diseases are a judgment of God upon sinners, they will probably be torn to shreds by the media, and sadly by many Christians as groups as well.

Like it or not, these diseases are God's judgments on man's illicit sexual choices. GOD warns us in Proverbs 5 and elsewhere in Scripture, that the consequences are inescapable if we choose to walk in rebellion to HIS precepts in the area of our sexuality. Now mind you, this is not a problem that is isolated in the big metropolitan areas of the country. This is a nation wide problem. Statistics prove that in many instances. the problems we face as a nation are even more pronounced in rural America.
So this is a warning to all Americans, that we must consider the risks we take by having promiscuous sex.We do so by heeding God's Words, and using His Wisdom to properly understand the consequences of our immoral behavior. Below is are medical facts abut just two types of STD's and their long term effects on a persons health.
  • AIDS: Does its damage by attacking our immune system - making us weak and unable to fight disease. It's final stages make us prone to having numerous different cancers, pneumonia, skin diseases, as well as other diseases that attack various organs in our body.
  • Syphillis: In its final stages causes paralysis, numbness in our bodies, blindness, as well as involuntary muscle movements that we cannot control. Worst of all is insanity which comes as our brains are systematically attacked by the disease.

It's just sex, right? Well these two sexually transmitted diseases will destroy your life. You can see what God was so serious when He warned that this type of rebellion will cost us our health. Even the secular scientists warn us about the consequences of sexual immorality. Oh that we would learn from these warnings concerning the medical consequences of walking contrary to God's prescepts when it comes to our sexual behavior.

Proverb 5 (NKJV)

Warning Against Immorality

01 My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
00 Lend your ear to my understanding,
02 That you may preserve discretion,
00 And your lips may keep knowledge.
03 For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey,
00 And her mouth is smoother than oil;
04 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
00 Sharp as a two-edged sword.
05 Her feet go down to death,
00 Her steps lay hold of hell.
06 Lest you ponder her path of life--
00 Her ways are unstable;
00 You do not know them.

07 Therefore hear me now, my children,
00 And do not depart from the words of my mouth.
08 Remove your way far from her,
00 And do not go near the door of her house,
09 Lest you give your honor to others,
00 And your years to the cruel one;
10 Lest aliens be filled with your wealth,
00 And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;
11 And you mourn at last,
00 When your flesh and your body are consumed,
12 And say:
00 "How I have hated instruction,
00 And my heart despised correction!
13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers,
00 Nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!
14 I was on the verge of total ruin,
00 In the midst of the assembly and congregation."

15 Drink water from your own cistern,
00 And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad,
00 Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own,
00 And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
00 And rejoice with the wife of your youth.
19 As a loving deer and a graceful doe,
00 Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
00 And always be enraptured with her love.
20 For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman,
00 And be embraced in the arms of a seductress?

21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD,
00 And He ponders all his paths.
22 His own iniquities entrap the wicked man,
00 And he is caught in the cords of his sin.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction,
00 And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Proof That All Humans Can Comfortably live In America

by Chuck Ness

Let me begin by saying I do not want all humans living in America. However, to make my point that we are not overpopulated, I will use the lower 48 states as my example to prove all humans can live comfortably in the the continental United States. I will offer actual updated numbers to show how I come to my conclusion, that not only is the World not overpopulated, but we are in fact hundreds of years away from it happening.

Since the mid 1960's liberals have been claiming the World is coming to an end, because there are too many people on the planet. There have been many movies made in Hollywood about the planet being overpopulated by humans. The majority of them are so ridiculous they make 1950 B movies look entertaining. One Movie in particular was "Soylent Green". It stared three great actors, Charlton Heston, Chuck Connors, and Edward G. Robinson.

The premise of the Movie is set in the year 2022 (yup that's right). In that future year, the World is suffering from pollution, overpopulation, depleted resources, poverty, dying oceans, and a threat of another Ice Age beginning to set in. Much of the population survives on processed food rations, as the government struggles to find enough food to feed the people. Then they come up with a miracle solution, Soylent Green. I guess if Biden and the Communists succeed in what they have planned for us, parts of this movie could come true.

Biblical Lessons, Phylacteries, & Proverbs 3:1-4

by Chuck Ness

Today's chosen commentary is on Proverbs 3:1-4 which alludes to Deuteronomy 6:6-8. In this passage, God tells the people how they can be assured they will always keep the law. Like all things, it comes with repetition so that it will be trained into our memory. Something we are to diligently teach our children, so that when they get older the law will be always in the forefront of their consciousness. For us Christians, we too should raise our children to know the Scriptures as they know how to walk. Everyday is a time to learn something new about the things of Christ. Everyday is a chance to ensure their eternal Salvation and a place in heaven.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. Deuteronomy 6:6-8
Many believe these Scripture references are where use of phylacteries among the Jews took rise. They were small leather boxes containing Hebrew texts on vellum, worn by Jewish men at morning prayer as a reminder to keep the law. It was a case of contention with Jesus in that he chastised the Pharisees about. Now do not misunderstand me, Christ wasn't chastising them for the use of these phylacteries but rather for the way they went overboard in their attempt to act more righteous for wearing them, and for putting undo burdens upon the people they themselves truly would not follow.
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and.
Matthew23:25-28
The whole idea is that we should have the word of God in the forefront of out minds. We do this not by strapping boxes of Scripture onto our forehead or strapping the bible to our arms, but rather by studying and constant reading of the word so we are always reminded of what is right and what is wrong so that we are nor led astray by the world we live in. Like Jesus and His Disciples, who were all astute students as they grew up. Thus the truth was always in their hearts and minds so, like Jesus, they were always about their Fathers business, not getting distracted by the business of the world. Paul admonishes Timothy, and thus us all, to be good students of Scripture so we will always be ready. study the Word so we are ready.
Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Timothy 2:14-15
This is why I emphasize the reading of a Proverb a day along with your normal reading and studying routine. We can never be too prepared for what lays ahead for us in this world. You never know when the Holy Spirit will lead another Christian our way who needs an answer to a problem they have about the Word or one who is stumbling in their walk, or even a contrarian about the truth. It is incumbent upon us to always be prepared in and out of season to share and defend the truth, and the only way is to be filled with the Spirit of God and gain all the Wisdom of God we can.
I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2Timothy 4:1-5

Why Must I Be So Tested Lord?

Isaiah 48:10
"Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
Today I was looking back at my journal entries, as I often do, to see how my growth in Christ has progressed through the years. As I read the entry from July 3, 2007 I read about the way I was struggling emotionally and feeling pretty useless. I wrote about the pressure of the world that was upon my shoulders, and about a lower neck vertebrae that was making my arms and fingers numb.

Then, as if things couldn't get any worse, I found myself under a spiritual battle from Satan's minions. Like a grape in a wine press, I was being squeezed a little more. I wrote that I prayed, and even fasted a few days to see if God would give me relief, but the pressure just kept getting worse.

My Crazy Summer of "73"

I( wrote this many years ago, and since then my writing skills have improved measurably. One day I will rewrite it and fix the errors, but for now that is the least of my concerns.)

by Chuck Ness

Everyone has memories they cherish from times when they were growing up. I have many memories, but none of them are as memorable as the ones I have of the Summer of “73”. That Summer holds some of the most cherished memories of my teen years. Yet it also includes memories of doing things that would lead to more bad behavior in my life. It was a time in my life when I was between still being a boy, and wanted so desperately to be a man. I did some stupid things that Summer. The overall culture of a carnival life is one of drugs alcohol and sex. While I did do some drugs, and yes I engaged in some sex, most of what happened with me that Summer was tame in comparison to what it could have been like if it were not for a certain woman named Mary, who treated me like the son she never had.

What Proverbs Tell Us, About Laziness vs Diligence

by Chuck Ness

When taken into context as to why so many shy away from the poor, it's usually because in the vast parts of the world a man is poor because he is lazy and never bothered to work hard enough to better his lot in life. Those closest to him understand why he is poor and they shy away from him, because a man's life is only as good as is his desire to succeed.

Laziness casts one into a deep sleep,
And an idle person will suffer hunger. (Proverb 19:15)
A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl,
And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. (Proverb 19:24)
Wealth makes many friends,
But the poor is separated from his friend. (Proverb 19:4)
All the brothers of the poor hate him;
How much more do his friends go far from him!
He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him.(Proverb 19:17)

I Will Continue To Fight

by Chuck Ness

I wrote this psalm back in 2008 , when I was in a spiritual struggle with Satan. I won that battle, but only because I had the full armor of God on. So I wrote this as a thank you and a praise to my Lord and Savior who gave me the tools I needed to win the battle.

Lord Jesus Come Quickly

by Chuck Ness

The times we are entering, will be full of evil and deceit. It is already creeping in like a fog over the waters of a small creek, but soon it will engulf the entire valley.

As we all walk through this valley of evil which we have allowed ourselves to be entering, we must remember not to fear the desires of the evil one. Even though it may abound and encompass everything around us, we must remember that our LORD will protect and guide us as we traverse the fog.

Even though our very bones will feel the evil, our Lord will give us the courage to continue on through the shadow cast amongst us in this valley of death. His rod and His staff shall comfort us, and with His strength and righteousness we shall overcome the evils we are facing.

LORD, forgive us our sins, and give us wisdom and courage to do that which we must do to ensure that our path will be clear and straight as we follow You through this fog of deceit.

LORD Jesus,,,,,,,,, come quickly.

Rape Trees Could Be Back Again, Thanks To Biden's Immigration Policy

I originally wrote this article on May 18, 2009. I edited in 2018 when
President Trump was having problems with the Democrats and the Courts
stopping him from buiilding the wall. Well, fast forawrd to today. With Biden
now in the Oval Office, it looks like we are right back to where we were when
Obama was President. So you can expect thousands and thousands of women and
young girls to be systematically raped and abused be the men coming to get all
the freebies Biden and the Democrats are offering.

Below is the original article, along with the video, You Tube removed by
deleting my YouTube Channel. I had the video saved on my Hard Drive.
So I uploaded it to my blog for you to see the proof that rape do trees exist.

By Chuck Ness

To set things up for the video at the end of the article, I need to take you back to February 23, 2009 when Arizona State Senator Jonathan Paton (R-Tucson) invited law enforcement officials to the Capital for a hearing. Paton asked the officers to describe how bad the border violence has become in Arizona.

What the Senators learned, was that Pima and Cochise counties were seeing an increase of violence due to Cartels picking up the pace of smuggling their drugs. The agents have found a scarves marked with the word Kaibil, the name of Guatemala's special forces. They were probably hired by the drug cartels as security for the drug  mules.  The Border Patrol also found machetes, brass knuckles, and a couple of bulletproof vests that are more sophisticated than what our troops use in Iraq. The vest, pictured below is strong enough to repel multiple rifle shots.

Blast From The Past, My Farewell Post On Post Scripts

This was the last post I wrote for PostScrips blog. I share it just as a blast from the past type of thing. The paper eventually fired me, because a the new owners out of Arkansas thought my views were too extreme for them. Think about that. It was 2011 when they canceled my blog and deleted averything I wrote. Oh, I recovered some, but only because a bird that worked for the Enterprise record gave me a heads up about what was coming.  I wasn't able to save everything, but I did save some of my work. I am currently adding them to this blog.  I only had my own blog with the paper about a year. So this was my farewell to Post Scripts whom I wrote for before I was given my own blog. Yellow Lab Senses Earthquake, & Runs For Safety Before It Hits

By Chuck Ness

As early as 373 B.C. historians recorded that residents saw various animals from rats, snakes and weasels, were deserting the Greek city of Helice in droves just days before a quake devastated the place. Throughout history accounts of similar animal anticipation of earthquakes have surfaced from places around the World. Catfish moving violently, chickens stop laying eggs and bees leaving their hive in a panic have been reported.

Countless pet owners claim to have witnessed their cats and dogs acting strangely before the ground shook–barking or whining for no apparent reason. All these and many more instances give rise to the question of whether or not animals have a special sense given to them by God to get out of dangers way.

In December 2004 when an earthquake occurred under the Indian Ocean a tsunami devastated many areas around India and Indonesia. While thousands of people were killed and injured from the ensuing tsunami, wildlife officials at Sri Lanka’s Yala National Park have reported no mass animal deaths. It would seem that that hundreds of wild animals including elephants, leopards, and monkeys were able to sense the danger long before humans. The theory is that the animals took precautions upon themselves that kept them from harms way at the

Researchers around the world continue to pursue the phenomenon of erratic behavior among animals prior to earthquakes such as excessive barking or biting by dogs, cats scratching their owners while in their laps before hand, and wildlife running as if they are evacuating from a forest fire. However geologists, in tandem with many animal behaviorists have dismissed these kinds of reports, calling such assurances a simple case of “the psychological focusing effect”. This is what happens when people remember strange behaviors only after an earthquake or other catastrophe has taken place. If nothing had happened, they contend, people would not have remembered the strange behavior.

Over 10 years ago In Eureka CA, a 6.5 quake did an estimated $12.5 million in widespread damage, with homes and businesses throughout the city being affected by the shaking. Humboldt County officials reported that in the whole county there were only 27 minor injuries and one severe injury of a resident who broke a hip. As the days went by however, reports began surfacing about strange animal behavior, from wildlife to pets. Residents reported that just seconds before the quake struck they saw their pets running to get away from something as if they were being chased by a predator.

In this video taken from a surveillance camera inside the Times-Standard Newspaper, you will see firsthand evidence of a yellow lab named Sophie bolting to find her owner moments before the earthquake struck Eureka. I would say that this is proof positive that animals know when the earth is moving before we do. I suggest that the geologists who claim people remember events out of sequence, and thus don’t think animals know ahead of time, need to reassess the conclusion of their study. It is not, as they say, “the psychological focusing effect”; it is in fact an ability to sense oncoming danger. Whether they felt the quake beginning from deep inside the earth before we did, or they were told by God to run, animals do listen to their instincts.

Men may have instincts also, but more importantly we have knowledge of the world. Thus we can determine if an area is prone to earthquakes, floods, hurricanes or even tornadoes. Unfortunately we are fools, I say fools because even with a higher intelligence we still continue to build our homes and cities in areas that constantly get devastated by natural disasters. Then we accuse God of being cruel for allowing humans to be killed and maimed from our foolish decisions. Well, enjoy this short 26 second video of a dog who listened to the instinct God gave her.

Remember, man rejected God, not the animals. They still listen to His voice, and high tale it out of when danger is coming.

False Grace Teaching

Here is some background on, "False Grace Teaching",
also called, "Hyper Grace", which my guest is writing about today.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the great German pastor, theologian, and martyr was asked in 1943 how it was possible for the Church to sit back and let Hitler seize absolute power. In his book, The Cost of Discipleship, he stated hyper grace: “Was the teaching of cheap grace.”

What follows is an excellent commentary on this false doctrine by my new guest writer;

Franklin Graham On "The Equality Act"

I could write my thoughts about the US House passing the Equality act, but instead I will defer to a much better man than I shall ever be. Billy's boy, Franklin Graham.

by Franklin Graham

We Cannot Remain Silent!

The Equality Act is a dangerous threat to our nation.

I am writing to you about a very dangerous piece of legislation—the Equality Act. The Biden Administration has said they want to pass this within their first 100 days. I cannot say this more emphatically—for people, for businesses, and for ministries of faith, the Equality Act is a threat to life as we know it in our nation today. It’s a real game-changer.

The House has already passed this legislation one time previously, so it will likely pass in the House again before moving on to the Senate. We need you to contact your congressmember and U.S. senators and ask them to vote NO. I also encourage you to let the White House know about your strong opposition to this bill. The progressive Left is zealous about this issue and will pull out all the stops to try to make it the law of the land.

Thoughts I Had As I Read My Bible

by Chuck Ness

I have mentioned before how the Holy Spirit comes upon me early in the morning as I am in my quiet time reading the Scriptures. Well, today was one of those moments. It's obvious that I was influenced by the Scripture I was reading. However, I give credit to the Holy Spirit, because I read every morning and I'm not always moved to write in the same way as I was this morning. So what follows the Scripture from Isaiah, is what I felt moved by the Spirit to write.

Fear and the pit and the snare
Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.
And it shall be
That he who flees from the noise of the fear
Shall fall into the pit,
And he who comes up from the midst of the pit
Shall be caught in the snare;
For the windows from on high are open,
And the foundations of the earth are shaken.
Isaiah 24:17-8

Foreman vs Frazier for The Heavyweight Title in 1973 (Video)

by Chuck Ness

George Foreman, and Joe Frazier are two world class boxers who's careers extended through the end of the golden age of boxing. They both gave credit to our Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation when they were at the height of their careers, and never wavered from their faith.

So, it's only fitting I share this classic boxing match on my blog for you. Two of God's gladiators going at it in the ring. Anyone remember this January 22, 1973 heavyweight title match between then Champion Joe Frazier and the challenger George Foreman?

I was 16 at the time, and it wasn't covered on the radio, because by that time there was too much money to be made off of the new pay per view thing they called HBO. I remember older boxing fans I knew being angry, because before HBO you could catch the great fights on radio. To them, HBO killed what was great about boxing.

Joe Biden, The Pedophile Enabler In Chief Who Hates Women!

by Chuck Ness

Like a dictator who rules with absolute unchallengeable power, Sleepy, Creepy Joe Biden has signed 32 executive orders, 13 presidential memorandas, and nine proclamations. Of all these, three executive orders stand out as direct attacks on the female gender.

One order canceled "Operation Talon, a program that was successfully removing illegal sex offenders and sex traffickers from cities and town across America. With this actiion, Creepy has enabled sex offenders and pedophiles to continue their perverse practices, without fear that the long arm of the law will catch them. More on the other two executive orders later.

The Cost Of Doing God's Will

Guest Writer

Chima Anaele Sylvanus

"if I perish, I perish". Esther 4:16

I could remember years back when this text became a reality to me. I was about making a crucial decision for God's glory that could literally destroy my whole life and career from a worldly perspective, but I was determined to make the right decision in following Jesus because I had come to the end of my self but in all God favored me because he saw my sincere heart to please him.

I didn't perish as I thought I would, but yet I could see God achieving something in me from that day on, "dying to self"

I strongly believe this is one of God's Call to every believer In Christ. Ester was not even in the new covenant, yet she knew how to die to self. She knew that doing God's will was going to place a cost on her life even if it cost her life or her crown.

Do Not Rejoice When Evil People Fall Proverbs 24:17-18

by Chuck Ness

As we watch the way the Democrats attack every good thing, while upholding and rewarding all evil, it is natural to desire the day they fall. Yet when that day comes, and it surely will, remember not to celebrate nor rejoice. Instead consider what Solomon wrote in Proverb 24:17-18;

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
Lest the LORD see it, and it displease Him,
And He turn away His wrath from him

Proverbs 24:17-18

So if you truly pray for the wicked to meet justice from God, then let God do it, but do not do as they do my rejoicing. For by doing so, you are telling God you are no better than they are. It is a fearful thing to be judged by the Righteous GOD.

Psalm 1:5-6 tells us that only the ungodly will stand in the judgement before GOD'

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1:5-6
So on the day of judgment, for their evil, GOD will punishment them greatly and eternaly. For as Jesus tells us,
“The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Matthew 13:41-43

They will be separated from GOD for eternity, if they never repent of their evil. So do not rejoice when the day of their punishment comes, because you cannot understand the damnation they have cursed themselves to face. Instead pity them, for their punishment will never end.

We are not to be as Jonah was, who hated the Ninevites so much that he didn't even want them to hear GOD's message to repent and be saved. The prophet was angry at their repentance because he would rather see them destroyed. So he refused to share the truth with the Ninivites, and instead headed into the opposite direction. When God finally got him to Ninevah, he admitted his sin and repented.

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Jonah 4:1-2

Jonah knew from the start that God was gracious and merciful. He realized that if the people of Nineveh repented, God would spare them. There are many reasons for Jonah's hatred for the Nineveh and why he would rather see then destroyed. After all, Nineveh was the capitol of the Assyrian Empire, the Assyrian’s were a heartless, cruel, and evil people; they were great enemies of Israel. Jonah had no love for them, yet GOD wanted to show compassion to them by giving them a chance to repent.

This is why Jesus calls us to be vessels of compassion, and to pray for our enemies to be saved,

Jesus told us in “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
Matthew 5:44-47

Maybe, just maybe some of these many evil people who are in a position of power today will repent, and be used by GOD to turn what is meant for evil into good. However, even if they don't repent, we are called to be the lantern of Christ, so He can shine HIS light of truth and compassion on all. If they do not repent, then when the day comes for their fall, remember to let it be. Then you will be assured they will feel the full punishment of GOD for their evil, lest He remove HIS wrath and they escape their punishment here on earth. So bless them, it will be like pouring hot coals upon their heads.

I pray that those who have ears to hear will hear His voice and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen

SCOTUS Refuses To Hear Election Fraud Case 6-3 "Justice Thomas Writes Scathing Dissent"

by Chuck Ness

The U.S. Supreme Court slapped American voters in the face with its decision not to hear the merits of a Pennsylvania election case. The lawsuit to hear about ballots unconstitutionally accepted after the Election Day deadline was rejected as “moot.”

“The justices on Monday declined to take up cases challenging a Pennsylvania state court decision that extended the ballot-receipt deadline in last November’s election by three days due to the coronavirus pandemic,” reported Politico.

Video of Plunger Not Being Pressed For Official Getting Vaccine

by Chuck Ness

In the video below, you will see a staff member, for the University of El Paso Medical Center, supposedly getting a vaccine shot to show everyone that it's nothing to worry about. After all, if a member of the University medical staff will get the shot, you should also. Well there's just one problem. He never got the shot. Oh he got stuck with a needle, but he never received any of the vaccine serum.

As you can clearly see the plunger of the hypodermic needle is never depressed. Thus, no serum was injected into the staff member. To be sure it is visible, I used my screen capture software to grab the video clip from a local television news report. Then I edited it by zooming in for a close up so you can see without a doubt they are pulling a fast one over on the public.

If Destruction Is Our Future, Then We Are To Blame

by Chuck Ness

Today Americans have stopped acting in terms of their own moral, ethical religious beliefs and principles. They stopped acting on what they know was right, and the "me attitude" has become the measure of everything. However, moral societies are the only ones that work. Now that America has ceased to be one, I'm hard pressed to find any country in the World that is.

If anyone thinks there is not a direct relationship between personal integrity and a society's prosperity, that person has simply not studied history. Societies that are built upon faith in God, honor, and the respect of law. blossom like a flower in the sun.

Losing A Loved One

by Chuck Ness

Yesterday I was informed by a friend that they lost a close loved one. However he knows that his loved one is with our Lord, because those, like my friend and I, are all promised that if we put our faith in Christ, then to be absent from the world means we are Present with our Lord.

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:1-8

Elephants Journey to Pay Respect, But How Did They Know?

Separated No More

By Chuck Ness

Most people seem to be confused as to when the New Testament times began, and the Old Testament times ended. Do you know, and do you know why?

The misconception on this matter comes from both non-Christians and Christians alike. It's understandable that non-Christians would be confused about this matter, but many Christians are also confused. Sadly, many Christians seldom, if ever, read their Bible. When they do it's because they are told by their Pastor, on Sunday morning, to open up their Bibles and turn to a specified Scripture. Then they will look at the book while the Pastor reads the Scripture.

Faith Of A Mustard Seed

by Chuck Ness

Is there anything you would like to accomplish, but you feel it's just out of your reach? Maybe you are too small to get up on that plateau. or too weak to lift that rock. You have been told your whole life, it's too difficult and you will fail. Settle for less they told you, quit dreaming of silly things you will never accomplish. You will just disappoint yourself, so settle for less.

Well, 2000 years ago Christ told His followers that,

"if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from
here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."
Matthew 17:20

Lost Now Found

“I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:10

by Chuck Ness

Have you ever lost something so precious and valuable that you searched day after day for it. You looked in every conceivable place you possibly could think of just to find that precious item.

After a Month or even a year later, you find yourself still searching for that precious item that is lost.

Well, consider the Lord, he is searching for the lost. Like the shepherd who leaves his flock to find that one lost sheep. Then when HE finds it, He is like the man who's son returned after living a life of sin in a foreign land. He threw a party for His whole household, because that which was lost was found. All of heaven parties the day Christ finds a lost soul.

A Desire for The Lord's Guidance

I wrote this Psalm in my morning journal many years ago. After spending a few hours reading
the Word in the morning, the Holy Spirit will sometimes move me to write something
that is beyond my own expectation. The Psalm below was one for those moments.

by Chuck Ness

My Father my Lord, show me the way to Your paradise, guide my steps so that I may not fall into the quagmire of sin. Show me my faults Lord, so that I may correct them and be restored into Your imperial court. Instruct me in the ways of Your will O' Lord, so that I may not be defiled or corrupted by my own selfishness.

When I walked in the dark I found myself lost in the alley of despair, not realizing that my way was one of ruin and constant failure. I now follow You, my Creator, my Savior, the Infinite One who breathes the life I inhale.

Lord, my soul continually craves for the manna from Your plantation of plenty, while my heart thirsts for the pure water from Your Rock of Salvation. I shall sit back in Your chariot of fire and accept Your tutelage while You chauffeur me on my way to paradise.

O'Lord, Your way is straight and the guidance You give me is exceedingly perfect. I shall praise Your name daily as I thank You for keeping me safe while you continually wash away the filth that I allowed myself to be corrupted with along the way.

Amen

Manufacturer, Recalls All Active Human Models

author Unknown

It is being reported that the Manufacturer of all human beings is in the process of recalling all active units. The Maker of this product has determined that regardless of make or year, the product needs to have it's main energy source retrofitted, due to a serious defect in the unit's primary component.

When asked exactly what the problem with the primary component was, the Manufacturer informed us that the heart of the problem is the heart, and that He has sent out representatives to help with the recall.

The Manufacturer is also informing us that the defect which was in the original prototypes, code named Adam and Eve, has subsequently been duplicated in all units. This defect has been technically termed "Subsequential Internal Nonmorality," or more commonly known as S.I.N.

What The Bible Reveals

by Chuck Ness

I have read many books throughout my life, but none have given me the knowledge and comfort I receive from the Bible. Throughout my life I have used many different versions of the Word, many of which are still in my library to this day. For the last 18 years I have been using both the NASB & NKJV, and while they are the most worn of all my Bibles, I still find myself dragging one of the others out from time to time. I found the following piece while looking up other things, and thought I would share it.

Historic Letter Written by Pontus Pilate to Tiberius Caesar?

by Chuck Ness

I found this letter while looking for other things. The premise of the letter that Pontus Pilate supposedly wrote, is to inform the Emperor, Caesar Tiberius, about the incident that happemned in his Province of Judea. He elaborates how there was some trouble with the Religious leaders over a certain Prophet of their God. Concerned about the affairs of his Province, he sending a messenger to Jesus with a letter. The letter invites Jesus for a private talk with he Roman Governor, Pontus Pilate Jesus obviously jumps at the chance to meet the Roman Governor.

Well, after Pilate meets Jesus. he is convinced that this man is a once in a generation type of a Prophet. Supposedly moved by this man, Jesus, Pontus feels the need to warn the Prophet of the dangers he faces for upsetting the local religious leaders. He offers protection for the Prophet, which is declined. Jesus supposedly tells Pilate, that which the ancient prophets had written of him must happen. Jesus goes on His way.

Ten Virgins

by Chuck Ness

To get a proper understanding of the mindset that Jesus was in as He presented the parable of the ten virgins, one must go back to Matthew chapter 23, where he said,

"The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them. They tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger." Matthew 23:2-4

It's Just A Mask

by Joker

“In 4 months, the U.S. transformed into an obedient socialist country. Government dictated what events are acceptable to attend. Violent protests that instill fear are OK but church services, family funerals and patriotic celebrations are dangerous. And you bought it without a fight.

Standing in a graduation line is a “safety hazard”. Small businesses were forced to close but crowds to support the corporate money machine at WalMart, Lowes and Home Depot are OK.

Come on. It’s “just a mask” & “safety precautions”.

How about a little hush money. Here’s $2,400 that we stole out of your pay check in the first place. Enjoy. Buy something with it. From a big corporation.

The Obsolete Man

(Guest Writer)
by Adam Lustig

The Obsolete Man
Opening Narration:

"You walk into this room at your own risk because it leads to the future. Not a future that will be, but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted a ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super-states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace."

The Picture Bible

by Chuck Ness

I was in an old used bookstore the other day. I like looking for old books written by Christians who came and went long before we lived. If I find one I like I purchase it. Well as I was looking I came across a Picture Bible, put together for children. Now it's not as old as many I find, it was actually published in 1979. I just could not resist. Every page is illustrated with just enough words added to tell the story.

As I flipped through it I was impressed at the accuracy of their short explanations they added to the illustrations. As you know, with children you must truncate stories to get the idea across to their young minds, without sacrificing the message of the event.

I took some pictures of the story they illustrated about king David and Bathsheba. Many are familiar with the story.  The pictures have few words added, but enough to do a good job of summarizing the story.  Even if you are an adult you will enjoy it.

Happy Is He Who Keeps the Law Proverbs 29:18

by Chuck Ness

Some believe it will be so cool to see the things that the ancients have spoken of. The truth is, we know that those days are not something they should wish to see, let alone experience first hand. Those of us who are getting older, know that we may be gone when the end comes. So we will know nothing of what transpires since we will be in the very presence of our Lord. Yet, we now see where the world is going, and our hearts are saddened at the things those left behind must endure.

As I type this, we are  witnessing times changing so fast that few things make logical sense anymore. Revelations 13:17 tells us that a time will come when men will not be able to buy or sell with out the mark of the beast. Well, today we are already seeing multibillion dollar corporations limiting what some people can sell or purchase unless we follow their unconstitutional regulations in America. These are the times spoken of by the ancient prophets like Paul, who wrote in his second epistle to Timothy,

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. 2Timothy 3:2-9

Jesus Himself told His Disciples,

"They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed." Luke 17:27-30

Like me, many of you feel anguish when we look into the eyes of our children and grandchildren. Knowing what they may endure. We know there is nothing we can do but raise them to Love Christ Jesus, but we cannot make them love Him. We are even more disheartened by the fact that the world is doing all it can to lure them away to an eternal death. Separated from GOD for eternity.

Imagine the moments of anguish, those of Noah's day must have felt as they tried in vain to get on board the only vessel that could save them from the tumultuous events that transpired. Consider those who lived their last futile moments as they tried to escape the fire and brimstone the LORD sent to destroy Sodom.

Happy is he who keeps the law. We don't look to the old law, but we are called to follow the teachings of Christ. If we as His followers do as He commands, then we will be true to Him. If we do not do as He says, then one day He will not recognise us. We look to the only vessel that will save us, Christ Jesus, and we are truly happy. So then, remember to also do as He says, and He tells us to find His sheep and bring themn home to Him. Lest they be lost for eternity. Thus I implore you all, if you have not done so yet, share the Word with all those you can. Be assured, that once you plant the seed, Christ will get it watered and begin a good thing in their hearts.

Proverbs 29
01 He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck,
00 Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

02 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
00 But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

03 Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice,
00 But a companion of harlots wastes his wealth.

04 The king establishes the land by justice,
00 But he who receives bribes overthrows it.

05 A man who flatters his neighbor
00 Spreads a net for his feet.

06 By transgression an evil man is snared,
00 But the righteous sings and rejoices.

07 The righteous considers the cause of the poor,
00 But the wicked does not understand such knowledge.

08 Scoffers set a city aflame,
00 But wise men turn away wrath.

09 If a wise man contends with a foolish man,
00 Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.

10 The bloodthirsty hate the blameless,
00 But the upright seek his well-being.

11 A fool vents all his feelings,
00 But a wise man holds them back.

12 If a ruler pays attention to lies,
00 All his servants become wicked.

13 The poor man and the oppressor have this in common:
00 The LORD gives light to the eyes of both.

14 The king who judges the poor with truth,
00 His throne will be established forever.

15 The rod and rebuke give wisdom,
00 But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases;
00 But the righteous will see their fall.

17 Correct your son, and he will give you rest;
00 Yes, he will give delight to your soul.

18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
00 But happy is he who keeps the law.

19 A servant will not be corrected by mere words;
00 For though he understands, he will not respond.

20 Do you see a man hasty in his words?
00 There is more hope for a fool than for him.

21 He who pampers his servant from childhood
00 Will have him as a son in the end.

22 An angry man stirs up strife,
00 And a furious man abounds in transgression.

23 A man's pride will bring him low,
00 But the humble in spirit will retain honor.

24 Whoever is a partner with a thief hates his own life;
00 He swears to tell the truth, but reveals nothing.

25 The fear of man brings a snare,
00 But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

26 Many seek the ruler's favor,
00 But justice for man comes from the LORD.

27 An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous,
00 And he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
God bless you all

Facebook Allows Video Of Murder To Stay Posted (Have It Now)

by Chuck Ness

Facebook claims to be the arbiters of what is, and what is not, good for public consumption. After all, they banished Donald Trump and millions of others because of their Conservative Political views. With my FB friends, it's a running joke as to who gets suspended the most. The reasons we get suspended has everything to do with our religious and political beliefs, not for questionable lapses of morality in our posts. After all, if we posted something that did deserve punishment from those watching our every move, they would applaud our disgusting posts.

Our Addictive God Gene

by Chuck Ness

Every human has been hotwired with a special faith component to our souls, even agnostics and atheists have faith in what they believe. Another way to explain this would be to say we have all been created with an addiction gene. It's that ever yearning desire to find something that will make us feel like we belong, or comfortable in our own skin if you will.

Momma Bear Rescues Cub From Tree (video)

God gives everyone, even animals an instinct to protect our young. From time to time we find our selves needing to help our children get out of sticky situations. This is a video of a Momma bear trying to get her cub down from a tree. You will notice how the other cub tries to help Momma.

Being A Watchman For Christ

by Chuck Ness

Up until the 19th century, cities often stationed watchmen on high walls or in watchtowers to keep guard. Their job was to keep an eye out for the enemy, by watching out over the horizon from their vantage point. They were the ones who warned the people of any apparent dangers. If they saw any sign of an attack, they would alert the people with a trumpet blast, or ringing a bell. However, if they failed to properly warn the people, by falling asleep or just being unaware, then the city could be attacked without the citizens being prepared to defend themselves. If they were ever caught sleeping on the job, their punishment was death.

You're probably wondering why this matters to Christians. Well, there is an Old Testament warning from God to Ezekiel that should also be taken as a warning to us Christians. (Ezekiel 33:1-20) A warning that we must heed, in order that we can truly understand the importance of being Christ's messenger in the World. I posted the Scripture at the end of the commentary.

The Levirate Law of Proverbs 20:16

There are many sordid story's with many shocking facts shared in the Scriptures about God's people. One such story is the twisted account of Judah and his daughter-in-law Tamar? (Genesis 38:7-26) The story of Judah and Tamar is certainly not the most pleasant story in the Bible. In fact, most commentaries on the book of Genesis don’t spend much time on this chapter. After all, the story of Joseph (Genesis chapters 37-38), has a lot more preaching material and great spiritual lessons!

Customs at the time of the Patriarchs were obviously much different than today. In some ways they may seem archaic, yet when it came to caring for women, the custom of the ancients was that that women were to be cared for, not used and discarded at the will of men. Tamar was one such woman. Through no fault of her own, Tamar was left to fend for herself because her father-in-law refused to follow the custom. In the end of this saga, Tamar would end up becoming one of just four women mentioned in the genealogy of Christ. (Matthew 1:2)

At the beginning of this chapter, we learn about the custom that would eventually become known as the “Levirate Law” of marriage. The word “levirate” has nothing to do with Jacob’s son Levi. It comes from the Latin word for “brother-in-law.” This law stated that if a married man died without an heir, his next-in-line eligible brother was to marry the widow in order to produce an heir who would receive his brother’s inheritance and carry on his brother’s name. The widow would have the joy of motherhood, and have a child who could care for her in the future. God approved of this practice, because it was later included in the Mosaic Law.(Deuteronomy 25:5-10)

Now Jacob's 4th eldest son, Judah, had three sons. The first son, Er, married a woman named Tamar. The Lord took Er’s life because he was “wicked in the Lord’s sight.” We don’t know what Er’s sin was, but it must have been very serious. After Er died, Judah gave his next eldest son, Onan, to Tamar to fulfill his duty to his older brother by producing an heir with her.  Onan, however, didn’t want to raise up an heir for his older brother. His thinking was most likely that the child born to his brother's wife would then get the greater share of the inheritance that he would believe goes to him since he is now the oldest, but the son would be the heir of Er's inheritance instead of him.

So Onan deliberately “spilled his seed” on the ground so that Tamar would not become pregnant. The Hebrew language used here makes it clear that this was not a one-time event. He did so each and every time he was with Tamar. Well, God disapproved of Onan’s attitude, and He took his life also. After Onan’s death, Judah promised Tamar that if she waited until he was old enough, that his youngest son, Shelah, would become her husband. However, Judah didn’t keep his promise. He reasoned in his heart that Tamar was the “kiss of death,” since two of his sons had already died while married to her. With only one son left, he didn't want his youngest to be another one of her victims.

 Now since Judah was not faithful to his promise, Tamar decided to take matters into her own hands. Her goal was to rightly preserve the line of Judah so the inheritance and blessings of the covenant could continue, but she went about it the wrong way. After Judah’s wife died and his period of mourning was ended, Judah went to shear sheep with his friends. Sheep-shearing was a happy time, with a party-like atmosphere, and during this time Tamar was able to seduce Judah by pretending to be as prostitute.

“Religious” or shrine prostitution and fornication were part of the worship of the pagan Canaanite fertility gods, so in that time and culture it was not unusual for a prostitute to sit by the roadside. However, just because this type of sin was culturally acceptable does not mean that Tamar was justified in using this method to attain her goal of having a child. And just because prostitution was culturally acceptable does not mean that Judah was justified in using a prostitute for his lustful desires. Although this passage of Scripture does not appear to condemn Judah or Tamar for their sinful behavior, God certainly does not take sexual sin lightly. Throughout Scripture, God condemns adultery and fornication as serious sins.

Now Judah had no money on him, so in return for sex, he promised to send the “prostitute” a young goat as payment for her services, but Tamar insisted that Judah give her his seal and his staff as a pledge that he would fulfill his promise to pay. So Judah gave her his seal (or signet), cord, and staff. The seal was probably what is known as a cylinder seal, which was worn around the neck on a cord in ancient times. This seal was a small stone cylinder that was engraved with the owner’s distinctive design, like a signet ring. When it was rolled over wet clay or wax, it was almost as good as a fingerprint as the identifying mark of its owner. Tamar wanted Judah’s distinctive seal as proof of his identity. Judah’s staff would also have his own identifying markings. So when Tamar was found to be pregnant, there would be no mistake – Judah was the man who was responsible. This is where you can tie the story in with Proverb 20:16. Solomon would obviously know of the story since he is a direct descendant form Tamar and Judah.
Take the garment of one who is surety for a stranger
And hold it as a pledge when it is for a seductress. (Proverb 20:16)
Tamar did not wait for Judah to pay her, so he figured it was his benefit. A few Months later he was told that his daughter-in-law became pregnant though harlotry, he demanded she be burned alive for shaming his family name. Then when Tamar sent the seal and staff, as proof that the owner of them is the father, Judah realized it was he who had shamed his family name, not her. He readily admitted publicly that she was more righteous than he. Judah took her in and thus she and her child would be cared for.

We see that Judah was wrong about Tamar being guilty of his son's deaths, and he was wrong not to keep his promise. Through it all, we see the genesis for Solomon's Proverb 20:16, which says that one needs to be honest when giving a promise to pay a debt. In essence, Judah he entered into a contract with Tamar by offering his youngest son when he was old enough to marry, and then later another contract when he gave his seal and staff as a promise to pay for sex. Both of which he was guilty of breaking.

The story of Judah and Tamar is an excellent example of God's grace. Think about it. This story is loaded with broken promises, deception, immorality, incest, and public shaming. Through it all though, we see the grace of God. His grace is magnified in this story, because regardless of their sin, the Messiah, is a descendant of Judah and Tamar sexual encounter. In his epistle to the Romans, Paul tells us;
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:20-21
So, you can see how God's grace abounds in this whole story. As I pointed out earlier, Matthew's geneology of Christ, lists Tamar as one of only four women mentioned. Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and Bathsheba are all Gentiles, and three of the four were certainly not models of perfection! But God's grace is abundantly clear in the lives if each one. Then there is the case that even though Judah is the one who holds the most shame for his actions, God's grace also covers him. God promised Jacob that Judah's descendants would hold the scepter and be the tribe of which the Messiah would come from. It would take place through one of Tamar's twins fathered by Judah, Perez.

Interestingly, you would think that if the Messiah was coming from any of Jacob's sons, it would be Joseph. God doesn't work the way man would though. So while God did not condone their wrongdoing, this story clearly demonstrates God's amazing grace. Remember Judah publicly confessed that he was the primary wrong-doer in his dealings with Tamar, and again when dealing the governor of Egypt. Who at the time he did not know was his younger brother Joseph. When Joseph made the brother leave Benjamin as a promise to return, Judah offered up his own freedom, and and even his own life!

Many wonder how the book of Proverbs can ever be used as a message of our Lords grace. Well this story of Judah and Tamar are tied into today's chosen Proverb, Proverb 20:16. We learn from the history of Solomon's family that God's grace abounds and that we can all be used for the greater glory of God, and His coming Kingdom.

Proverb 20 (NKJV)

Wine Is a Mocker

01 Wine is a mocker,
00 Strong drink is a brawler,
00 And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

02 The wrath of a king is like the roaring of a lion;
00 Whoever provokes him to anger sins against his own life.

03 It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
00 Since any fool can start a quarrel.

04 The lazy man will not plow because of winter;
00 He will beg during harvest and have nothing.

05 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water,
00 But a man of understanding will draw it out.

06 Most men will proclaim each his own goodness,
00 But who can find a faithful man?

07 The righteous man walks in his integrity;
00 His children are blessed after him.

08 A king who sits on the throne of judgment
00 Scatters all evil with his eyes.

09 Who can say, "I have made my heart clean,
00 I am pure from my sin"?

010 Diverse weights and diverse measures,
00 They are both alike, an abomination to the LORD.

11 Even a child is known by his deeds,
00 Whether what he does is pure and right.

12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye,
00 The LORD has made them both.

13 Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty;
00 Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread.

14 "It is good for nothing," cries the buyer;
00 But when he has gone his way, then he boasts.

15 There is gold and a multitude of rubies,
00 But the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

16 Take the garment of one who is surety for a stranger,
00 And hold it as a pledge when it is for a seductress.

17 Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man,
00 But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.

18 Plans are established by counsel;
00 By wise counsel wage war.

19 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets;
00 Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.

20 Whoever curses his father or his mother,
00 His lamp will be put out in deep darkness.

21 An inheritance gained hastily at the beginning
00 Will not be blessed at the end.

22 Do not say, "I will recompense evil";
00 Wait for the LORD, and He will save you.

23 Diverse weights are an abomination to the LORD,
00 And dishonest scales are not good.

24 A man's steps are of the LORD;
00 How then can a man understand his own way?

25 It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy,
00 And afterward to reconsider his vows.

26 A wise king sifts out the wicked,
00 And brings the threshing wheel over them.

27 The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD,
00 Searching all the inner depths of his heart.

28 Mercy and truth preserve the king,
00 And by lovingkindness he upholds his throne.

29 The glory of young men is their strength,
00 And the splendor of old men is their gray head.

30 Blows that hurt cleanse away evil,
00 As do stripes the inner depths of the heart.
