I Know I Will See Christ Face to Face

by Jose Barajas

We all gathered as a family the day we celebrated the life of our father with friends and people who had known my dad. That day was beautiful as the sun shone and I had spent the morning crying and admittedly even had a few shots with my brother in law. I was chosen to be one who would speak to the crowd that gathered and really didn’t know what I was going to say.

I remember talking about each of my siblings and making people laugh because that’s what my dad would have wanted but I know I was in a daze! When we took his body to the spot where it would lay, all of my family stood there, and God only knows what they were thinking. However, because of what Jesus did on the cross, I know in my heart that I will see my dad again.

The Incomparable Christ

There are several versions of this poem on the internet. Some say the author is unknown. Some attribute the poem to Samuel Porter Jones, a 19th Century Methodist evangelist. The version I offer is a compilation from several sources. Not knowing for certainty as to whom the human author is, I prefer to credit the Holy Spirit. Praise God

The Incomparable Christ

“He came from the throne of the Father to the womb of a woman.

He put on humanity that we might put on divinity.

He became Son of Man that we might become sons of God.

He was born in a supernatural way, lived in poverty and was reared in obscurity.

He had neither wealth nor influence, yet the wisdom of men has never matched His wisdom.

Never has a man spoken like this man.

His family was inconspicuous and uninfluential.

In infancy He startled a king.

As a boy, He stunned theologians with His knowledge and wisdom for He was taught of God.

Lifted Up, Like A Snake The Desert

by Chuck Ness

Give me a moment of your time and allow me to introduce you to something very few Christians ever considered when hearing the phrase, Lift Christ up with Praise. Quite often you will hear a Pastor use this phrase as he instructs you to give glory to God, through His Son. Have you ever really considered the significance of the phrase?

Many people know the verse, (John 3:16).I would bet that the vast majority of Christians have it locked into their memory bank. For me, that was the first verse I ever memorized in Sunday school as a child. God's gift to mankind was His only Son, Jesus. With the death of His Son on the Cross, all we need to do is confess Him as our Lord and Savior and our sins have been paid for in full. It’s Salvation in a nut shell. Praise God for simplicity! If there is any verse that says it all about God's love for us, it's this one.
