You and I Are Barabbas

By Chuck Ness

Like our sin that goes away never to be brought up again by God, so too is Barabbas to history. Neither Christian nor Jewish writings, ever mention Barabbas again. Barrabas was the scapegoat which was released into the wilderness, so that the Levitical ceremonial law of sacrifice  could be fulfilled by Christ.

The word scapegoat means something entirely opposite from what it meant at the time the King James version of the Bible was wrote. Today, the word is used most often in sports media. It 's used when a particular player or coach is being blamed for a team's poor performance in a game or season. The person receiving the brunt of the blame game is called the scapegoat. The rest of the team is free from blame and the scapegoat is blamed as the reason for a lack of success.

Proverb 30 Who Ascended or Descended?

Proverb 30 (NKJV)
by Chuck Ness

The proverb asks if you know the name of the One who Who ascended to and descended from heaven, the One gathered the wind in His fists, the One who bound the waters into a garment, the One who established all the ends of the earth. It asks if you know the name of Him, or His Son's name. Some 900 years before Jesus was born, Solomon knew that God's Son would appear on earth. A prophecy bound up in a proverb. Long before the Pharisees would accuse Him of equating Himself with God, Solomon knew God's Son who would descend from heaven.

We are drawing close to the End of Times, and there is absolutely nothing more important in life than being born again of the Spirit of God; to know that you are saved from eternal death and judgment and that you have an assurance that you are going to heaven because you have been born into His family, into His Kingdom; to be set free from the burden of sin, and be able to experience God's forgiveness, peace and power.

This has all been freely provided by an unmerited grace through the atoning sacrifice on Calvary of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. This is the Gospel that was proclaimed by the angels at His birth some 900 years after Agur was moved by the Spirit of God to ask us if we know what His name is. It has since been preached throughout the entire world.

This is the Gospel that was proclaimed by the angels at His birth some 900 years after Agur was moved by the Spirit of God to ask us if we know what His name is. It has since been preached throughout the entire world. The things that are getting ready to take place on the Earth will shake the whole world and bring about much confusion, fear and destruction. Although there are things everyone can do to prepare themselves, there is nothing that will completely protect you from what is coming unless you are protected by the Ark of Salvation that is Christ Jesus. This is why Jesus warned His disciples while He walked with them;
And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: Luke 17:26

In those days, God told Noah to build the ark and gave him a blueprint on how to build it. This ark would be the only way humanity could be saved from the horrific cataclysmic flood that was coming upon the earth. The ark was big enough to accommodate many people plus all the animal species. Noah, a righteous man of God warned the people for a long time about the coming flood and destruction, telling them to repent and turn away from sin and join him in the ark. However, no one paid attention to him as they continued living in their sins, rebellion and idolatry. Jesus used the the great flood and the days of Sodom's destruction as examples of how things will be before He returns;

Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. " Luke 17:27-30
As I said. just as Noah and his family had a life saving ark to escape God's judgment on the world, we too have an Ark that will save us from the judgment of God. This Ark is available to all who believe in Christ and repent of their evil ways. Christ Jesus is that Ark of Salvation. Mind you, many claim that there are other ways to gain eternal salvation, but like a boat riddled with holes in the bottom, Those ways will only give you a ticket to hell and destruction.

Do not follow those who teach a false Gospel, because there is but one way to eternal salvation. Salvation is not a religion, it is a person; Love is not a word, it is a person; The Way is not a map, it is a person; Truth and life are not concepts, they are a person. The name of that person is the same person the proverb asks if you know, and that person is Christ Jesus, who tells us;
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
I pray that those who have ears to hear will hear His voice and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved. Amen

Proverb 30 (NKJV)

The Wisdom of Agur

01 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, his utterance.
00 This man declared to Ithiel--to Ithiel and Ucal:

02 Surely I am more stupid than any man,
00 And do not have the understanding of a man.
03 I neither learned wisdom
00 Nor have knowledge of the Holy One.

04 Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?
00 Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
00 Who has bound the waters in a garment?
00 Who has established all the ends of the earth?
00 What is His name, and what is His Son's name,
00 If you know?

05 Every word of God is pure;
00 He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
06 Do not add to His words,
00 Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

07 Two things I request of You
00 (Deprive me not before I die):
08 Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
00 Give me neither poverty nor riches--
00 Feed me with the food allotted to me;
09 Lest I be full and deny You,
00 And say, "Who is the LORD?"
00 Or lest I be poor and steal,
00 And profane the name of my God.

10 Do not malign a servant to his master,
00 Lest he curse you, and you be found guilty.

11 There is a generation that curses its father,
00 And does not bless its mother.
12 There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,
00 Yet is not washed from its filthiness.
13 There is a generation-- oh, how lofty are their eyes!
00 And their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords,
00 And whose fangs are like knives,
00 To devour the poor from off the earth,
00 And the needy from among men.

15 The leech has two daughters--
00 Give and Give!

00 There are three things that are never satisfied,
00 Four never say, "Enough!":
16 The grave,
00 The barren womb,
00 The earth that is not satisfied with water--
00 And the fire never says, "Enough!"

17 The eye that mocks his father,
00 And scorns obedience to his mother,
00 The ravens of the valley will pick it out,
00 And the young eagles will eat it.

18 There are three things which are too wonderful for me,
00 Yes, four which I do not understand:
19 The way of an eagle in the air,
00 The way of a serpent on a rock,
00 The way of a ship in the midst of the sea,
00 And the way of a man with a virgin.

20 This is the way of an adulterous woman:
00 She eats and wipes her mouth,
00 And says, "I have done no wickedness."

21 For three things the earth is perturbed,
00 Yes, for four it cannot bear up:
22 For a servant when he reigns,
00 A fool when he is filled with food,
23 A hateful woman when she is married,
00 And a maidservant who succeeds her mistress.

24 There are four things which are little on the earth,
00 But they are exceedingly wise:
25 The ants are a people not strong,
00 Yet they prepare their food in the summer;
26 The rock badgers are a feeble folk,
00 Yet they make their homes in the crags;
27 The locusts have no king,
00 Yet they all advance in ranks;
28 The spider skillfully grasps with its hands,
00 And it is in kings' palaces.

29 There are three things which are majestic in pace,
00 Yes, four which are stately in walk:
30 A lion, which is mighty among beasts
00 And does not turn away from any;
31 A greyhound,
00 A male goat also,
00 And a king whose troops are with him.

32 If you have been foolish in exalting yourself,
00 Or if you have devised evil, put your hand on your mouth.
33 For as the churning of milk produces butter,
00 And wringing the nose produces blood,
00 So the forcing of wrath produces strife.

He Came From the Father to the Womb of a Woman

Chuck Ness

Many of us have heard this or read it, yet through the years I have yet to find anyone who claims authorship. Try as I have, I have been unable to find the original author. If you know, please share with me with proof. Until then I give credit to the Holy Spirit, which even if we find the human who wrote it, the Holy Spirit would still be credited with inspiring the author.

Why Worry Christian?

By Chuck Ness

It has been said that while money is the biggest stumbling block to the rich, worry is the biggest stumbling block to the poor. However, I have read about many rich people worrying about their money and I have known many poor people who have stumbled with what little money they did have.

We live in the most powerfully affluent society the world has ever seen, not since Solomon ruled Israel has a country been so affluent as America is today. Why even the poor are wealthy when compared to the poorest people in places like Bangladesh. Even with the country in a virtual lockdown over the COVID virus, America is still the country everyone wants to come to for success and tranquility in their lives. Which says something about the rest of the world.

Do You Follow a Religion, ar Christ?

by Chuck Ness

I do not follow a religion, I follow Christ who is the door to the Father, the One in whom I have a relationship with.

That is why Jesus said he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. He is the One we follow because to get to your destination you must follow the right path.

Can We Lose Our Salvation?

By Chuck Ness

Let us glean what the Scriptures have to say about this subject?

Well, some verses imply that the covenant with God, once made, can never be unmade:
John 10:27-29
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Romans 8:35, 38-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Philippians 1:6
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

II Timothy 1:12
For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
While other verses imply that the covenant with God can be broken, like a divorce:

Through the Bible; from Genesis to Revelation in One Year

by Chuck Ness

I have been asked by numerous individuals as to how I manage to get through the Bible in one years time. It's a task I attempt to undertake every year, and I must admit that often times I find myself bunching up a few books around the end of the year to accomplish my task. Now there are many schedules put out every January by various Christian Churches and organizations that will guide you in accomplishing such an endeavor. I am sure those who attend church regularly will find that their Church offers a schedule every December.

Unfortunately, what I have learned through the years is that these lists and schedules are usually put together by someone whose hours and lifestyle doesn't always fit for others. So I have decided to offer a few ideas for those who have yet to read the Bible through in a year and desire to do so. I will attempt to show how I have been able to get into the rhythm of reading the Lords gift to us, His Word, from cover to cover.

The best way to begin is to share my own experience. One of the most difficult obstacles is to be disciplined about picking the Bible up everyday and reading it. Now I do not mean to say that I did not have the desire to read the Word, I did. My problem was that when I finished with all the exciting passages, I was faced with the task of reading the books I felt did not pertain to my life. So for many years I just kept rereading the same books over and over again.

Proverbs 21:4 Sometimes God Suspends Freewill

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD,
Like the rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes.
(
Proverbs 21:4)

When you wonder why a World does things that are clearly out of the norm for that individual, sometimes it can be by Devine intervention from God. I'm not saying that the evil things some World leaders have done are by God's will, but the good things that an evil leader may have done that are moral, ethical, and logical can be attributed to God. Mind you, its not because their heart has all of a sudden become pure or they had an Epiphany, but rather it's because God turned them from that which they wanted to do, to doing His will instead. I'm sure that like us, they too wonder why they did those things that are not what they intended.

See, while we do have free will, God does reserve the right to remove our free will from time to time in order to have a good thing accomplished for other reasons. Case in point would be when Balaam was hired by Balak, the King of Moab, to curse the Israelites. Instead he blessed them, because God would not allow him to curse His people. (Numbers 22–24).
Another instance was when Joseph's brothers planned on killing him. God knew they would, long before they were even born. So God arranged for some Ishmaelite traders to come by at that exact location so that Joseph was instead sold to them for twenty shekels of silver. The trader in turn sold Joseph in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard. (Genesis 37:12-36)

See, God needed the get Jacob and his family down to Egypt so they would be isolated from intermarrying with the people of Canaan as Esau had. This way they would grow into a great nation set aside by Him as He promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God knows all, and He knew that the Egyptians would not mix with Shepherds because they considered them to be unclean. (Genesis 46:34) What did Joseph tell his brothers?

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. (Genesis 50:20)

Then there's time when God moved the Persian King Cyrus to read the parchments left behind by the prophet isaiah. In them he read that God had spoken to Isaiah in a vision: (Isaiah ch 45)
"My will is, that Cyrus, whom I have appointed to be King over many and great nations, send back my people to their own land, and build my temple."
History is replete with moments of God suspending ones free will in order to accomplish a goal He desires. Many may scoff at this, but look back at history and you will find records of times when very evil men did some quite remarkably good things. Men like Nebuchadnezzar, Hitler, Stalin, Al Capone, and even the serial killer, Ted Bundy, who all did things that only God could have moved them to do. That's why we as Christians are told to pray for His intervention in times of need?

Like when a loved one is injured, or maybe they have been told they have cancer. How about those times we wanted a job, or maybe for Him to give us that extra boost of energy to accomplish a task.  If we believed that God never helped us, then instead we would just allow a Dr to do the best they can, thus leaving our loved ones to suffer in times of tragedy.

No, instead we pray for God to help. Oh I should also remind everyone to always add , " Thy will, not my will." In doing so, we pray that our will and His will are in alignment. Can you think of a time in your life when God suspended your will in order to keep you on the right track. A time your were denied something you dearly desired and thought you deserved. Just to realize that in retrospect, that it was the best thing that could have happened?
The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD,
Like the rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes.
(
Proverbs 21:4)
I pray that those who have ears to hear will hear His voice and call upon the name of the lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Facebook Blocked My Ability To Post Christian Commentary On Hebrews

 Face book has blocked my ability to share my commentaries on the Facebook Christian groups I am a long standing member of. This is the message I got when I attempted to share my Commentary on the Epistle of Hebrews.  In a country who's preamble of the constitution gives credit to GOD for our rights, the left will deny us our God given rights.

My Thoughts on the Epistle to the Hebrews

By Chuck Ness

I can truly say that my understanding of the salvation I received from Christ has been made abundantly clearer thanks to this letter. I would love to thank the author for the growth I gained in studying this letter. However the identity of the author is unknown, but there is no lack of ideas as to who wrote it. The list goes on and on as to who the author was. The opinions run the gamut from Barnabas, Paul, and Apollos (whom I personally go back and forth in awarding my vote to) some scholars even suggest that either Priscilla or Mary the mother of Jesus was the author. I have my reasons why I do not think the author was a woman, however even if we knew who wrote this, a most excellent of epistles, it would not add, nor take from, one iota of importance to its contents.

That being said, I shall not get into the many minutia of who the author is, except to say the letter is truly inspired by the Holy Spirit and that is really all that matters.

Lifted Up, Like A Snake The Desert

by Chuck Ness

Give me a moment of your time and allow me to introduce you to something very few Christians ever considered when hearing the phrase, Lift Christ up with Praise. Quite often you will hear a Pastor use this phrase as he instructs you to give glory to God, through His Son. Have you ever really considered the significance of the phrase?

Many people know the verse, (John 3:16).I would bet that the vast majority of Christians have it locked into their memory bank. For me, that was the first verse I ever memorized in Sunday school as a child. God's gift to mankind was His only Son, Jesus. With the death of His Son on the Cross, all we need to do is confess Him as our Lord and Savior and our sins have been paid for in full. It’s Salvation in a nut shell. Praise God for simplicity! If there is any verse that says it all about God's love for us, it's this one.

A Message To The Church Of America

by Chuck Ness

Are you living a safe and comfortable life? Then maybe you are not doing enough. Tertullian said that The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. Yet today I see the church in America dying a slow death due to the fact that the Saints in America like their blood too much to offer it as a sacrifice for Christ and His church today.

That’s because too many Christians in America are so connected to the world that they refuse to face the danger, Christ told us we must face for Him. Jesus said to the disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 16:24-25) At that time the disciples did not understand that Jesus was going to die on the cross.

Imagine if Paul was more worried about his flesh and comfort than his soul? Paul, and the rest of the Apostles picked up their cross and followed Christ to their death. Like Paul, they faced many dangers and I am convinced they all came close to death many times before they paid the ultimate price of following Christ.

Search My Heart Lord Psalm 139:23-24

by Chuck Ness

Lately there have been times when I become angry at the things I see going in the world. I find myself wondering if the things I care about are worth my time. I see many people walking around in a daze, caring only for what the world has to offer them, not what the Lord does.

It seems like my friends and relatives dismiss the things I share with them as just another rant from someone who is way too wrapped up in things they could care less about. My frustration can become so overwhelming that I wonder why I should even care for what they think, or where they are headed. That’s when I realize my love for them has become contempt, and that I need to step back and search my heart.

A Biden/Harris Government Will Destroy America

Biden's America will be
like Chicago's Cabrini-Green,
also known as,
“Little Hell”.
by Chuck Ness
November 8, 2020

What I am telling you is not hyperbole, and it's not scare mongering. It is a fact. If Biden accomplishes even half of what he is promising to do, we can expect the future of America to be lost.  You can look at Venezuela today, because that is what pure Socialism creates. The only winners are those in control, and the richest of the rich.

All you need to do is look at the policies implemented by Hugo Chavez after he stole the election in Venezuela. In the 1980's, it was the most advanced, productive country in South America. Within a few years of power, Chavez's policies turned it into a basket case. Everything Chavez did in Venezuela, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris promise, and then some, for the citizens in the United States. The first thing Chavez did was increase the number of judges on the High Court so his changes were constitutional. From there, everything went down hill for the citizens.

From B-1 Bob to Trump, The "Axis Of Evil" Has Perfected Their Assault on Outsiders

Every now and then, a champion for the rights of the disenfranchised American citizen comes along to give us hope that not all is lost. Those champions know that we citizens go about our business of working hard, raising children, enjoying our leisure activities, and voting to put responsible people in power to protect and defend our constitutional rights.

Sadly, many times we are fooled by charismatic liars who convince us they are for us. Just to find out too late they are nothing but a well spoken snake oil salesmen, selling us tainted spirits disguised as medicine that will cure all our ills. However, from time to time we stumble upon a true patriot who does care and understand the plight we are faced with. A person like the fictional character, Jefferson Smith.

Proverb 3:5-6 Trust The Lord

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Proverb 3:5-6

by Chuck Ness

So many times we all wish we had a gift to peer into the future. All men desire that gift so they can live their life accordingly. They want to be able to avoid the pitfalls, and get right to the great things that will happen. They desire the gift so they will make the right choice. Well, we have that gift, it comes from God. All we need to do is have the faith in God to do for us that which He promises. If he gave us a gift to see the future outright, then He would not expect us to live by faith. We need to have faith that God will direct our path.

The desire to take things into our own hands becomes strong at times. Many times I see GOD leading me into a storm and my mind tells me to grab the rudder to steer around it. Yet if I listen to that voice in my heart that tells me to give it to the Lord, my flesh becomes comfortable. Ever notice that when you allow God to control things, that by the time you get to where the storm was, it's calm. That's because sometimes GOD will take you to a place your brain thinks will be a storm, when in fact it's the one place you will be safe. Then you think, "WOW, thanks GOD. Had I taken the path that seemed better, it would have been disastrous." GOD will often times save us from our own stupid self by bringing us into what looks like a storm.

See, God knows the future. All we can do is guess, and without Him in control our guesses are usually wrong. The flesh is a controlling deceiving creature. Through the years, I have learned from my own trials and tribulations, that the Scriptures are always correct. To truly trust in the LORD is love HIM with all our heart, soul, and mind, (Matthew 22:37) because when we put our faith in our own heart and brain, then we are leaning on our own understand, and not HIS.

Today's Proverb tells us that when we give HIM control, "He shall direct our paths." After all, HE is the one who knows the end and has since the beginning of time. HE knows when we will succeed, when we will fail. when we fall in love, and when we will be confronted by tragedies that could break our spirit. This should give us all the confidence we need to boldly move forward, because if we truly have faith and follow HIS direction, then we can know it's the right path. Oh it may not be the easiest path, but it will lead us to the goals HE wants us to reach and thus the blessings HE has waiting for those of us who are good and faithful servants. After all, we all want to hear HIM say to us one day, "Well done good and faithful servant, enter into joy of the LORD and my rest." (Matthew 25:23; Hebrews 4:11)

As evil as the world is, and always has been, we need proper direction and that direction can only come from God. Being in the world without God as your guide is like being out on the ocean without a compass or on land in a white out snow storm. In your life I know you have seen many who have had to go back to square one, because of the bad choices in their life. As a young man I myself was a stubborn as a billy goat as I continuously kept kicking at the goads. I would trudge along until I finally hit a wall, just to ultimately awake to the fact that my way had again lead me to nowhere.

Like myself, there are way too many men and women just sailing along on a course they know not where it will end. They may seem happy and content, but eventually the path they are on will only take them into circles until they end up right where they began. The problem is they are in control, and they are proud of it. Truth is, unless His hand is on the wheel, one's end will be sadness and despair. Even if they get through this life, their end will be a separation from God forever. Many a soul will be singing, "I did it my way," all the way to hell.

"Lean not on our understanding." Ever get into a pickle, or something terrible happens and your mind starts thinking, "I can't understand why God allowed this to happen to me?"People are always trying to second guess GOD by trying to understand all His ways. We should be happy that HE only calls us to trust and have faith HIM and not to understand. If we knew half the trials and tribulations that were in store for us, many of us would be no different than the Israelites who perished in the desert due to their lack of faith.

Imagine if Moses tried to get the Israelites to understand that GOD was going to take them to the shore of the Red Sea, while being chased in the desert by Pharaoh's army? Then your told, it will be OK, because GOD is going part the waters for us and we will walk across an underwater sand bridge HE has been preparing for us for over a thousand years. OH, and don't worry about Pharaoh's s army, because GOD is going to drown them in the same sea you will be walking across. I doubt many would have followed him out of Egypt, even after all the miracles they saw. Many times the Israelite's questioned Moses and HIS God as they traveled through the desert for 40 years. Sadly only two men from that generation had the faith of a mustard seed. The rest were buried in the desert and never saw the promised land.

Our understanding is so limited, and based only on what we know, which is more times than not very faulty. Our understanding is similar to that of those on the Titanic. All they saw was a small iceberg floating in the water. They had no clue that small iceberg was but 5% of what they hit. Even today, men see the temperatures rise and they claim the world is at an end. No matter how smart and educated men get, they still ignore GOD by leaning on their own understanding, and the they claim there is no GOD, the more GOD makes a fool out of them.

"In all your ways acknowledge Him." Not in some ways, but in all ways. Acknowledge Him, by asking Him what you should do in any situation. Acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Turn everything over to Him during the day as situations arise. Learn to look to Him for guidance, and "He shall direct your path." Have faith in the One who created you, and HE will direct your steps through the world He expects you to live in. Proverb 16:9 Remember, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 So lean not on your own understanding, but lean on Him and He shall direct your path.

I pray that those who have ears to hear will hear His voice and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverb 3 (NKJV)

Guidance for the Young

0
1 My son, do not forget my law,
00 But let your heart keep my commands;
02 For length of days and long life
00 And peace they will add to you.

03 Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
00 Bind them around your neck,
00 Write them on the tablet of your heart,
04 And so find favor and high esteem
00 In the sight of God and man.

05 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
00 And lean not on your own understanding;
06 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
00 And He shall direct your paths.

07 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
00 Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
08 It will be health to your flesh,
00 And strength to your bones.

09 Honor the LORD with your possessions,
00 And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty,
00 And your vats will overflow with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
00 Nor detest His correction;
12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects,
00 Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
00 And the man who gains understanding;
14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
00 And her gain than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies,
00 And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand,
00 In her left hand riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
00 And all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
00 And happy are all who retain her.

19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth;
00 By understanding He established the heavens;
20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up,
00 And clouds drop down the dew.

21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes--
00 Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
22 So they will be life to your soul
00 And grace to your neck.
23 Then you will walk safely in your way,
00 And your foot will not stumble.
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
00 Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror,
00 Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
26 For the LORD will be your confidence,
00 And will keep your foot from being caught.

27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
00 When it is in the power of your hand to do so.
28 Do not say to your neighbor,
00 "Go, and come back,
00 And tomorrow I will give it,"
00 When you have it with you.
29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor,
00 For he dwells by you for safety's sake.
30 Do not strive with a man without cause,
00 If he has done you no harm.

31 Do not envy the oppressor,
00 And choose none of his ways;
32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD,
00 But His secret counsel is with the upright.
33 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked,
00 But He blesses the home of the just.
34 Surely He scorns the scornful,
00 But gives grace to the humble.
35 The wise shall inherit glory,
00 But shame shall be the legacy of fools.
